Thibi is a data and design consultancy that specialises in building interactive web-based data tools and visualizations. Our team has been active in Southeast Asia’s civic tech and open data community for many years, with extensive experience in data visualization, data-driven web development, and data literacy training. We have worked with organizations such as Thomson Reuters Foundation, Internews, Open Knowledge Foundation, and The Asia Foundation. Thibi is currently growing into a remote team of designers, developers and data experts based remotely across Southeast Asia.
Thibi and the Earth Journalism Network are offering an intensive multi-month training program to selected Indian journalists to produce in-depth data-driven journalism on critical environmental issues. The course, which will run in 2024, will be divided into three parts: one month of Fundamentals of Data Journalism online learning, one month of Intermediate Data Journalism online learning, and a two-month Fellowship with a story production stipend.
Our project team consists of data journalism trainers and data analysts who will be preparing and delivering the training materials, as well as designers and developers who will work with the participants to co-create their data stories. We anticipate the stories co-created with the participants will be published in renowned international and Indian media outlets.
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team and manage the development and implementation of Thibi’s Environmental Data Journalism Academy, a program for Indian environmental journalists who want to learn data journalism skills. The program will be carried out in partnership with the Internews Earth Journalism Network, and the Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the program, including connecting with media organisations, liaising with journalists, and handling all reporting requirements for our project’s funders.

This is a fully remote, part-time position. * There will be periods (maximum of 3-4 working weeks) where full-time availability will be required for arranging and conducting in-person workshops.
It is for a ten-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
